The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance was established to honor the memories of those who perished on 9/11 and to renew the spirit of service that encapsulated the national community after the attacks. With your guidance as an educator, these official 9/11 Day materials will help children will learn valuable, heartfelt and constructive lessons about the 9/11 experience and ways they can serve their community on 9/11 by finding a cause they believe in or a way to help others. Through your instruction, we hope that many students will gain renewed appreciation for the diverse communities in which they live; cultivate a deeper understanding of those who may be different from them; and develop a greater sense of service and compassion in their daily lives.
